The APS Add-on: Annealing Furnace expands the Agile Production Simulation (APS) with a new production module. The standard configuration, featuring a drilling and milling module, is now enhanced with the option of an Annealing Furnace. This additional process module allows the introduction of new derivatives into production or the expansion of existing production configurations with an additional process step.

The Furnace consists of a docking station for the FTS and a vacuum gripper that transports the workpiece into the kiln using pneumatics. The hardening process is simulated with a red light. After the process, the workpiece is returned from the kiln to the gripper, which then places it back onto the Driverless Transport System.

The initial integration of the kiln into production is carried out via the dashboard in just a few minutes, with detailed steps described in the documentation. The use of the additional FTS also unlocks extra learning content on the Digital Learning Platform.

• Programmed in Structured Text and preloaded onto the controller
