Decentralized intelligence makes modular machine construction considerably easier. Each module operates independently and supplies adjacent modules — including the central control system, if necessary — with greatly simplified data with easy-to-use and service-oriented interfaces for control purposes. CODESYS-based PLCs also allow modularization of the control programs.

The Turck 34Pins fischertechnik control module can be used with four different stations. The system is made plug and play and in a complete factory there will be 4 smaller PLC’s in stead of one main PLC.
